Hi! I’m Zakir Suleman. I’m a Service Designer and User Researcher. I have a Master Degree in Information Science from University of British Columbia, where I focused on human-centered design and blockchain systems. I care a lot about my community, about giving back to my peers, and about telling impactful stories.

I work as a Service Designer with the DTES SRO Collaborative, a community organization that creates innovative models for addressing poverty. We just finished a 908-person survey of tenants in 133 buildings to get a baseline on the living conditions and needs of our clients.

In 2023 I worked as a research assistant and facilitator with the UBC Faculty of Science. I built capacity through research, workshops, and strategic retreats for the University’s commitments to decolonization through its Indigenous Strategic Plan.

in 2020 I worked as a UXR Intern with
Molecular You, where I conducted user research on how to design more trustworthy biomedical systems. That research was published in 2023 by Springer Nature and presented to the BC Government’s Digital Identity team to inform their work on BC Wallet in 2021.
